In mid-May, five nests of Siamese crocodiles – the largest number found in over 20 years – were discovered in Cardamom National Park. The discovery involved the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Fauna & Flora – Cambodia Programme, and community wardens.

Fauna and Flora International (FFI) lauded the success of the government’s Siamese crocodile (Crocodylus siamensis) breeding and release programme, noting that Cambodia is now home to the world’s largest wild population of the critically endangered reptiles.
